International Journalism Festival

Five full days. More than 40 events. More than 100 speakers. All events
are open to the public free of charge. Almost all events provide
simultaneous translation into English and Italian. The second edition
of the Perugia International Journalism Festival, to be held in the
stunning Umbrian town of Perugia from 09 to 13 April 2008, is an open
invitation to listen to and network with the very best of world
journalism.

The aim of the festival is fourfold:

to bring the world of journalism to the general public, raising awareness of and interest in current affairs

to bring together journalists from different journalistic perspectives and traditions, providing a stimulating annual rendezvous in and around the streets and piazzas of Perugia

to celebrate excellence and/or courage in journalistic writing worldwide

to be informal, accessible and fun

Confirmed international speakers at the 2008 festival include Carl Bernstein, Alastair Campbell, Christopher Dickey, Peter Eisner, Robert Fisk, Roy Greenslade, Bachi Karkaria, Eric Laurent, Ann Leslie, Robert Ménard, Anne Nivat, Fred Pearce, Knut Royce, Michael Specter, Alexander Stille, Philippe Val and many more. Media represented include Al-Quds Al Arabi, Al Jazeera International, Associated Press, BBC, Canale 24 Horas, CBS, Charlie Hebdo, CNN, The Daily Mail, The Daily Telegraph, The Economist, Le Figaro, France Presse, France 24, The Guardian, The Independent, The New Scientist, Newsweek, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Observer, Le Point, Private Eye, Reporters sans Frontières, Reuters, The Spectator, The Times, The Times of India, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post
